Yelling at the refs on TV is fine, but you'd better not do it in a real game!

KEEPING YOUR COOL
There will be those games where you don't think the calls are going your way and you feel the referees are keeping you down. Even though you don't agree with the calls or think the referees are being biased for one team over the other, we as soccer players must not let it get to our heads and stay focused throughout the game.
The referee's job is not an easy one because no matter what, one team will win while the other team will go home disappointed. Arguing with the referee can only result in a bad image of yourself for the rest of the game and possibly getting yellow and red cards. When you don't agree with a call don't yell at the referee, just move on and play harder.
I have been in that position, where you want to yell at the ref and give him a piece of your mind but trust me, no good comes out of it. Getting cards in the game for arguing with the ref is a selfish thing to do; it can only hurt you and your team. When a player argues, that player and that team get a negative image in the referee's mind, which could lead to more calls against you.
Also to you coaches and parents out there, this information goes for you too. Referees will take it out on your team if you harass them. Just enjoy the game from the sidelines and watch your team strive for victory. Don't get me wrong, we love your supportive cheering and encouragement!
Soccer is meant to be enjoyed for playing hard, creatively and smart, not for arguing with the referees. Just keep your cool and remember to stay focused on your own game, not the referee's job.
